Manufacturing Receiving Clerk

Plantation Patterns, a division of NBGHome, is a manufacturer and distributor of high quality outdoor cushions and umbrellas in the United States. We are currently seeking a Receiving Clerk to join our Selma, AL manufacturing team.  This role is a first shift, salary non-exempt hourly position reporting to Receiving/Plant management.



As a Manufacturing Receiving Clerk, you will work within a dynamic and passionate team to achieve and maintain the efficiency and accuracy of a a fast-pace production facility in the textile industry. This role will work with plant management to perform and expedite loading and unloading product in the receiving areas awhile supporting a safe, clean, organized, and accountable workplace with no damage to product or packaging at all times. 


Position Summary:
Accurate physical receiving of materials/product in order to maintain integrity of inventory control, and ensures delivery of materials/product to the proper department.
  This position reports to the Receiving Supervisor and Plant management.

Position Responsibilities: 
  • Schedules all inbound deliveries; ensures purchase order number is on all paperwork.
  • Receives product deliveries.
  •  Inspects, accepts, or rejects inbound shipments. 
  •  Communicates and coordinates with appropriate buyer for product returns/repair.
  •  Properly inputs received material into computer system and forwards proper documentation to accounts payable.
  •   Delivers product to appropriate personnel – insures all pathways are kept clear. 
  •  Assists in other departments as needed.
  •  Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs. 
  •  Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other employees, supervisors and managers.
  •  Maintains safe work environment according to all department procedures, federal and state regulations
  • Wears personal protective Equipment as necessary for the job.

  • GED equivalent and three (3) years of responsible experience in warehouse setting.
  • Working knowledge of computerized inventory control system. 
  • Working knowledge in MS Word, Excel or similar computer software systems. 

  • Ability to accurately complete arithmetic computations to sufficiently perform duties of the job.
  • Proof of high School Diploma or GED.
  • Successfully complete all pre-employment checks (including Drug Screen and Background Check.)
  • Proven Safety record.
  • Able to work independently with limited supervision as well as in a fast pace team envrionment.
  • If necessary, must be able to work overtime and weekends with little notice to meet customer and company service/delivery goals.
Essential Functions:
  • Attendance at work and punctuality is an essential function of this position.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to stand and walk for the full 8 - 12 hour shift on possible irregular surfaces.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with vendors in English.
  • Required frequently:   standing, walking kneeling, squatting, bending reaching, and working in hot or cold temperatures.
