Warehouse/Shipping Supervisor

Plantation Patterns, a division of NBGHome, is a manufacturer and distributor of high quality outdoor cushions and umbrellas in the United States. We are currently seeking a Warehouse/Shipping Supervisor  to join our manufacturing plant Warehouse team.  This role is a first shift, exempt position reporting to the Warehouse Manager.  We are located in Selma, AL.



As the Warehouse/Shipping Supervisor, you will work within a dynamic and passionate team to achieve and maintain the goals of our inventory and warehouse plan. This role will work with  warehouse management to perform and manage daily warehouse activities to promote a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement. You will be directly responsible for all warehouse activities that assure the timely and efficient movement of materials and/or finished goods through the various processes.  Relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, you will assist the team in making warehouse/shipping processes/responsibilities more efficient.  At all times, you will support a safe, clean, organized, and accountable workplace.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following with other duties as assigned:

  • Enforces all company policies and procedures.
  • Directs and participates in problem solving, development & implementation of standard operating procedures, and process improvement.
  • Oversees shipping, inventory control and standard storage practices to maximize the flow of product through the facility to meet or exceed customer requirements for fill rate, on time delivery, and quality products through damage free shipments.
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of products and/or packaging.
  • Directs, communicates, and enforces effective work schedules for all warehouse activities to ensure optimum operating results, must maximize order fill-rate and the timely shipment of customer orders to meet requested delivery date.
  • Directly responsible to enforce established programs and procedures designed to achieve operating metric goals in the areas of customer service, productivity, safety, sanitation, inventory control, product damage as well as equipment maintenance.
  • Guides, coaches and develops employees in a worker-friendly team environment that rewards performance with respect and trust. Administer disciplinary action, corrective action and coaching/counseling as needed. Mentor direct reports in effectively doing the same.
  • Directly responsible to conduct monthly safety meetings to emphasize compliance with local and company safety rules and regulations, in addition to keeping all employees updated to operational changes and performance expectations.
  • Ensures the efficient and safe operation of all material handling equipment.
  • Encourages positive employee engagement.
  • Ensures that safety, quality, delivery, accuracy, and cost targets are met.
  • Develops and manages employee work schedules to include vacation requests LOAs, holidays, and overtime.
  • All other duties as required.


  • Significant use of Microsoft Office is required. A medium skill level in Excel and basic Outlook and PowerPoint skills required.
  • Extensive knowledge with SAP, ERP, and related software (WMS, AIMS, etc.) required.
  • All external hiring is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and a criminal background check.



  • Education and/or Experience - Associates degree or consideration of five (5) or more years of specific warehouse managerial experience. 
  • Must have distribution experience; lean manufacturing environment experience preferred.

Work Environment – Office and Open Warehouse; Travel may be required.

Skills/Abilities Experience Requirements:

  • Highly organized with exceptional follow-through, time management, and multi-task abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communications.
  • Basic computer and data entry skills.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to read and understand measurements and tape measures.
  • Ability to operate a forklift; must be certified within three (3) months of hire.
  • Lifting and moving boxes will be required.
  • Team player that works well within a fast-paced, goal-driven environment.
  • Able to work independently with limited supervision as well in a team.
  • High School Diploma.
  • Two (2) years Inventory Control and warehouse experience..
  • If necessary, must be able to work overtime and weekends with little notice.
