Quality Manager / Quality Engineer

A leading global consumer packaged goods company, Nielsen Bainbridge is currently seeking a Quality Manager/ Quality Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of quality & process engineering experience for its Bridgeview, IL manufacturing facility with approximately 75 employees.   This position will be responsible for overall plant quality programs, interface with sales & customers for complaint resolutions, establishing process conditions to achieve great product quality, and optimizing processes of foam extrusion, adhesive coating/ lamination.  The ideal candidate will have some experiences in paper/ web handling, plastic extrusions, and/or adhesive coating & lamination processes.  The company offers a challenging and creative working environment and a comprehensive benefits package.  This important position will report directly to the Plant Manager.

  • 3-7 year experience level in some manufacturing processes listed above.
  • Quality Assurance and/or Technical Process experiences; BS Degree in Engineering preferred. 
  • Good problem solving with exceptional analytical & technical skills.
  • Experience in adhesive lamination & paper industry (color, gauge, texture) is desirable.
  • Experience in polymer extrusion and/or lamination is desirable.



  • Manage all quality programs for the plant, and supervisor 2 QC technicians.
  • Complaint analysis, Root Cause investigation, and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Establish process control conditions for products and major manufacturing processes related to foam extrusion, foam lamination, adhesive coating, and paper laminations.
  • Lead and Implement projects that optimize and improve processes to achieve lower scrap levels, better quality, and/ or lower costs.
  • Conduct & document trial work as necessary to qualify new products, solve quality issues, or improve the overall manufacturing process.
  • Support manufacturing teams through troubleshooting quality or process related issues.
  • Communicate effectively with sales & customers in response to complaints, help investigate issues, and provide solutions.
  • Provide technical support to quality assurance personnel to improve customer quality.
  • Maintain compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Manage & document process improvements that are implemented.
  • Ability to work with a team to focus on our business interests.



Job may require long periods of sitting, standing, walking, driving, delivering presentations, working on a computer and engaging in telephone conversation, and loading, unloading and carrying product samples.   In a manufacturing environment, must be capable of wearing personal protective equipment necessary to comply with government and company safety standards and require some tasks that include walking, bending, twisting, gripping, stair and ladder climbing, and navigating rough terrain.  Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and accurately distinguish a wide variety of colors.  The above declarations are general in nature and are not intended to be all-inclusive of this position’s duties, responsibilities and requirements to do this job.
