Inventory/Quality Control Associate

The Home Decor Companies, THDC, a leading provider of moderately priced home decor products to mass, home improvement, discount and speciality retailers in North America. We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Inventory Control Associate based in our Southaven, MS facility.

The Inventory Control Associate will be responsible for operating material handling equipment for the purpose of activities which may include, but are not limited to: scanning, moving, staging, replenishing, and stacking product. This individual is also responsible for counting product, and notifying leadership when there are damages or discrepancies. These Associates are accountable for the safe and efficient operation of all equipment and will be expected to perform all duties as assigned.

**Candidate must be Reach Truck certified.**

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Perform Cycle counts, location audits, and physical inventories as required
  2. Identify, research and reconcile inventory discrepancies
  3. Identify, research and reconcile/system /operational process discrepancies
  4. Use research tools to provide accurate root cause analysis of discrepancies
  5. Ensure accurate and timely distribution of inventory related data/information/reports
  6. Make timely and accurate system adjustments
  7. Maintain safety and housekeeping standards and practices

Minimum Qualifications and Experience Required:

  1. 1-3 years experience in Inventory Control and Cycle Counting processes.
  2. Must have excellent Math skills.
  3. Demonstrate analytical and problem solving skills.
  4. Excellent interpersonal and effective communication skills are required.
  5. Demonstrate a willingness, interest, and capacity to learn new tasks and skills.
  6. Experience using RF Unit.
  7. Experience with driving Reach, Dock Stocker and Order Picker forklift equipment.
  8. Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented distribution environment.

Safety, Housekeeping, and Compliance:

  1. All associates are responsible for executing all safety protocols and will accomplish all job tasks in a manner that promotes safety.
  2. Associates are responsible for the cleanliness and orderliness of the facility. Associates must also maintain a clean, neat, orderly work area, and assist in security of the warehouse.
  3. Associates will comply with all Standard Operating Procedures, corporate and site specific policies, safety rules, and OSHA/ MSDS Standards.

 Equipment Operation:

  1. In performing assigned duties the equipment used can include but is not limited to: sit-down, stand-up, reach truck, sweeper scrubber, scissor lift, cherry picker, or pallet jack.
  2. Associates are responsible for the upkeep of equipment and reporting of equipment problems.
  3. On a daily basis, associates will inspect and perform minor maintenance on the forklift or other equipment.
  4. Associates will operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods.
  5. Associates must maintain an active forklift certification.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Ability to stand for long continuous periods of time.
  2. Ability to climb ladders up to 15 feet.
  3. May engage in some repetitive motion.
  4. May engage in frequent bending, stooping, pushing and pulling of parts and part containers.
  5. Due to the open environment of the warehouse, must be able to work in various weather and temperature conditions to include extreme heat, humidity and cold.
  6. Ability to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear.
  7. Ability to continuously walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  8. Ability to occasionally sit, climb or balance.
  9. Ability to continuously lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh 50+ pounds.
  10. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
