Pattern Maker/Product Development Coordinator

Plantation Patterns, a division of NBGHome, is a manufacturer and distributor of high quality outdoor cushions and umbrellas in the United States. We are currently seeking a Pattern Maker/Product Development Coordinator to be based in our Birmingham, AL facility.

 

Summary

This role develops new product pattern work (cut and sewn pillows and cushions) for Plantation Patterns product development workshop. It also supports the Product Development Manager in creating detailed specifications of all products including drawings and maintaining the FileMaker Development Database. Additional duties include coordinating and facilitating the sample order process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following with other duties as assigned:

  • Pattern Making-Using Auto Cad Software
  • Generates Specifications sheets including Product Drawings using Auto Cad Software
  • Support Product Development Manager will all activities related to the product development process
    • Sample Order Management
    • Fabric Management
    • Shipping Samples.

Qualifications:

Significant use of Auto Cad Required. Use of Photoshop and Illustrator a Plus.

Significant use of Microsoft Office is required.  Intermediate level in Excel and PowerPoint Required.

Requirements:

Education and/or Experience -

Required education:

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university with an emphasis in Industrial Design or Industrial Engineering; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required experience:

  • 2  Years of Pattern Making and Auto Cad experience

Physical Demands -

Some physical work is needed to support the product development process. This includes lifting cartons and fabric as well as packing samples for shipment.
