eCommerce Merchandising Specialist

NBGHome is a leading global designer, manufacturer and marketer of home décor products including custom and ready-made picture framing, lighting, wall décor, indoor and outdoor accent furniture and soft goods. We are currently seeking an eCommerce Merchandising Specialist for our headquarters in Northwest Austin, Texas.

Summary

 

Manages eCommerce sales to achieve sales and profit goals. Works with the Account Managers to maintain and support online sales with Amazon, Wayfair, Walmart, Target, Kohl’s, Home Depot and other retail and Wholesale channel customers that sell their products online. Also works with Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, and other departments to ensure attainment of company goals. Develops, monitors and drives web analytic dashboards and metrics to determine sales strategies. Develops and nurtures existing and new customer relationships with eCommerce customer and understands how to navigate each customer’s systems.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

SEO / Content - Develop and implement effective Search Engine Optimization (SEO) strategies to increase product rankings, discoverability and conversions. Use both marketplace research and daily reporting to optimize copy and fine tune target keywords to ensure that not only are our products discoverable, but discoverable to the right search queries for organic SEO success.

Rich Content - Improve product listings through enhanced rich content, including (but not limited to) Amazon A+ Content to further illustrate our brand’s story, HTML based content to style product descriptions making content more scanable and additional photography and branded graphics within product descriptions to maintain brand consistency, engage customers and build a rich online shopping experience.

Keyword Research - Perform ongoing keyword research both to discover and expand keyword opportunities to maximize revenue potential and to position our products for the most searched-for, and valuable, search queries within our category.

Ad Campaigns - Oversee all Pay Per Click (PPC) Ad Campaign initiatives including developing, implementing, monitoring and analyzing marketplace analytics to ensure campaign success. Sponsored Product Campaigns drive traffic to product detail pages and increase discoverability by ad placement within Search Engine Results Page (SERPs) based on targeted keywords.

Reporting - Use marketplace metrics to identify best practices, category performance and areas needing improvement. Review Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as traffic, unique page views, product rankings and POS, to evaluate customer behavior and shopping trends used to optimize product listings through SEO content, imagery and keyword bidding.

QA Monitoring / Reviews - Monitor and respond to customer feedback and returns regularly to provide a positive customer experience and pinpoint product issues. Customer reviews provide crucial data that can be used to help discover manufacturing and/or operational weaknesses and improve brand reputation through customer engagement, therefore improving product ratings, listing ranks and customer loyalty.

Education and Experience Needed

 

  • An excellent understanding of eCommerce and strategies for a growing business specific to this marketplace
  • Excellent reporting skills that demonstrate strong knowledge of eCommerce position, pricing, and strategy
  • Proven marketing abilities and sales techniques for eCommerce
  • A competent working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Ability and experience selling on Amazon; Amazon 3P Marketplace and Amazon Vendor Central
  • Understanding of data exchange methods. Ability to import and export data.
  • Awareness of the workings of EDI (Electronic Data Interchange)
  • Experience with converting and resizing digital images and documents
  • Strong understanding of sales forecasting
  • Web marketing and SEO (Search Engine Optimization) knowledge
  • Good communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent business management and developmental skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel
  • Bachelor’s Degree required - Sales, Marketing or Computer Science major preferred
  • 2 years minimum experience selling in Amazon 1P (Vendor Central) and 3P (Seller Central) marketplaces
  • 2 years of experience selling on Amazon

 

Physical Demands

Pack & ship samples as needed. Job may require long periods of sitting, standing, walking, driving, working on a computer and engaging in telephone conversation, and loading, unloading and carrying product samples to and from customer locations.
