Product Manager

NBGHome is a leading global designer, manufacturer and marketer of home décor products including custom and ready-made picture framing, lighting, wall décor, indoor and outdoor accent furniture and soft goods. We are currently seeking a Product Manager for our Patton Picture division located in Mechanicsburg, PA.

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position may assist in all sales-facing functions for Patton but will focus primarily on administrative support of assigned retail accounts (i.e. Target and/or Hobby Lobby). 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

The essential functions of this position include Communication, Strategy, Discovery, Design and Mechanics:

  • COMMUNICATE: Our Product Managers are the hub of internal and external communication for retail projects. In this role, you obsess over detail and juggle multiple product launches with critical thought and professionalism.

 

  • STRATEGIZE: Our Product Managers lay the foundation for sound financial analysis for assigned retail accounts.  In this role, you rock Excel, thrive on numbers and embrace the art of presenting data in a concise and meaningful manner.  You possess an intimate knowledge of the active products at your assigned retail accounts and cite historical data when offering insights.

 

  • DISCOVER: Our Product Managers are experts on their assigned retailers.  In this role, you understand the trends, prices and consumer preferences affecting product assortments and regularly document your findings for presentation to upper management.  You comp shop regularly and identify (and sometimes predict) in-store changes.

 

  • DESIGN: Our Product Managers support our entire retail teams.  In this role, you will prepare attractive and thoughtful PowerPoint presentations often and efficiently.  You also possess a keen creative eye and help review incoming product samples against construction specs, pricing requirements, and retailer compliance.

 

  • MECHANIZE: Our Product Managers own the administrative portion of product pitches and launches.  You regularly review purchase orders, setup items, and process the product data required by your assigned retailers.  You are the glue for product pitches and coordinate both the samples and their respective details for presentation to buyers. You have an astounding ability to cite where any given product is at any given point in the development lifecycle.

 

 

PREFERENCES:

Our success at Patton Picture is rooted in our proprietary processes and we welcome the opportunity to train energetic new hires.  Still, there are some qualifications that will earn you preference as we narrow our selections:

  • Experience developing home décor, durables, giftware or seasonal products with retailers.
  • Experience working with overseas manufacturers.
  • Experience using retailer portals (i.e., Data Sync, Grovesite, Retail Link, Live Link, etc.).
  • Strong experience using the MS Office suite of products.
  • Familiarity with the Adobe suite of products and/or basic graphic design software.
  • Possible experience with 3D modeling programs (creating and/or reviewing files).
  • Exemplary grammar and the ability to communicate complex ideas and processes into concise, meaningful ways through both written and verbal means.
  • The ability to work late nights and/or weekends during peak development seasons.
  • Availability for overnight domestic travel two to three times a year.
  • A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to pitch-in when needed.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The Product Manager works in an office environment and must be able to perform the physical tasks of the position, with or without accommodation:

  • Ability to look at a monitor for extended periods.
  • Ability to regularly lift and carry samples weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to set planograms and showrooms with product as necessary.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

An Associate Degree in Business, Marketing or Data Management is preferred.  The ideal candidate will have demonstrated proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Acrobat and Outlook, as well as excellent communication and organization skills.  A grasp of information management is crucial to success in this role.
