Inventory Control Specialist

Plantation Patterns, a division of NBGHome, is a manufacturer and distributor of high quality outdoor cushions and umbrellas in the United States. We are currently seeking an Inventory Control Specialist to be based in our Calera, AL distribution center.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

As our Inventory Specialist, you will work within a dynamic and passionate team to achieve and maintain the goals of our inventory plan. This role will perform and manage daily physical cycle counts; train and manage an inventory team; recognize and resolve quantity discrepancies and conduct daily inventory analysis to solve inventory problems. Relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, you will provide recommendations on how to make inventory control responsibilities more efficient.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Counts and tracks physical inventory
  • Maintains accurate records of counts and frequency of counts
  • Records inventory counts in the Warehouse Management System (WMS)
  • Communicates any variances or inventory discrepancies to management
  • Manages the process to maintain inventory accuracy above 99.0+% in all stocking locations
  • Oversees Warehouse cycle counting, location auditing and inventory control practices & procedures to maintain accuracy and ensure compliance with audit requirements
  • Tracks, researches, & reports monthly write off
  • Coordinates and manages daily physical and perpetual cycle counting efforts
  • Reports, monitors and reviews daily inventory adjustments and changes to ensure key critical areas of the WMS are controlled and all discrepancies are addressed and resolved.
  • Resolves inventory issues / discrepancies
  • Audits shipping and receiving and put-away processes follow company guidelines in regards to inventory control practices
  • Ensures mistakes, inaccuracies and discrepancies are highlighted, addressed and resolved
  • Maintains accurate records of all inventory utilizing daily cycle counts and adjustments
  • Coordinates the day to day scheduling, staffing, work assignments, tools, and materials for the team
  • Responsible for the department’s physical assets (equipment, RF units, inventory, etc.) are properly controlled, protected, and utilized

 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Accepts special projects as assigned by supervisor.
  • Some travel may be required as needed.

 

Skills/Abilities Experience Requirements:

  • Highly organized with exceptional follow-through, time management, and multi-task abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communications.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to read and understand measurements and tape measures.
  • Team player that works well within a fast-paced, goal-driven environment.
  • Able to work independently with limited supervision as well in a team.
  • High School Diploma; Associate Degree or higher a plus.
  • Two (2) years Inventory Control and warehouse experience..

If necessary, must be able to work overtime and weekends with little notice and/or be on call after hours.
