Quality Process Engineer

A leading global consumer packaged goods company headquartered in Austin, TX is currently seeking a Quality/Process Engineer for its Bridgeview, IL manufacturing facility with approximately 75 employees. This position will be responsible for monitoring the quality of finished goods and raw materials and implementing technical improvements in the plant.   • Foam lamination
  • Foam thermoforming
  • Paper lamination



  • Inspect incoming raw materials and perform testing to ensure that the products meet our specifications, either outturns from our vendors sent in advance of shipment or when materials are received at the plant without prior samples.
  • Maintain testing data archives for reference and comparison purposes.
  • Be able to communicate effectively with our suppliers when material is found to be outside of our established tolerance.
  • Inspect finished goods inventory due to quality issues driven by complaints or manufacturing data.
  • Be able to communicate effectively with customers in order to respond to complaints, help trouble shoot issues, and provide technical expertise.
  • Provide technical support and supervision to quality assurance personnel with some supervision of production personnel for trial work.
  • Maintain compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Prepare summary reports on quality data collected by the quality personnel.
  • Prepare monthly reports detailing complaint summaries for both our foam board and mat board product lines.
  • Plan and execute trials to develop new products or improve plant performance.
  • Manage process improvements that are implemented.
  • Ability to work with a team to focus on our business interests.



  • BS degree in Paper Engineering.
  • Exceptional analytical and technical skills.
  • Experience in the paper industry (color, gauge, texture, etc.)
  • Experience in polymer extrusion and/or lamination desirable.



Job may require long periods of sitting, standing, walking, driving, delivering presentations, working on a computer and engaging in telephone conversation, and loading, unloading and carrying product samples to and from customer locations. In a manufacturing environment, must be capable of wearing personal protective equipment necessary to comply with government and company safety standards and require some tasks that include walking, bending, twisting, gripping, stair and ladder climbing, and navigating rough terrain. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and accurately distinquish a wide variety of colors.
