Product Compliance Engineer

We are currently seeking an entry level Product Compliance Engineer, based remote. The Product Compliance Engineer will be responsible for the engineering and compliance of a product category through product development and production stages. The role will have focus on building quality and safety into new product development as well as implementing quality improvements on existing product SKUs. The role will work closely with cross functional teams to verify product compliance to regulatory, retail customer, and NBG Home standards/requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides Engineering and Compliance support throughout the product development process.
  • Leads Engineering R&D and testing for new product development and innovations for a product category.
  • Completes risk assessments by identifying, communicating, and mitigating product risks at product development stages.
  • Develops product technical specifications for materials and components.
  • Partners with Quality Assurance and Manufacturing teams to build Quality and Safety into products.
  • Analyzes defects identified through notifications from retail customers, consumers, and internal processes. Works with QA team and suppliers on root cause/CAPAs.
  • Coordinates and tracks 3<sup>rd</sup> party testing based on customer requirements.
  • Evaluates acceptability of Root Cause and CAPA submittals from factories/suppliers.
  • Leads and completes Engineering Change Requests (ECR) for required product changes based on quality and cost improvement opportunities.
  • Serves as an Engineering reviewer/approver for Instruction Manuals, Packaging and 2D Drawings.


Skills Required

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills working in a team environment.
  • Ability to work independently and in a cross functional fast-paced environment.
  • Familiar with consumer product standards, test protocols and certifications is a plus (UL, ETL, Packaging…ect…)


Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering 
  • 1+ years relevant experience
