We are currently seeking a Plant Manager, based in Selma, AL.  This position is accountable for achieving overall operating results consistent with individual and company performance goals. The Manager of Manufacturing will assist in the development of individual and team performance improvement goals aimed at supporting achievement of company objectives. In this role you will be a senior level subject matter expert that works with the NBG-Home distribution and transportation teams on operational planning and front-line support related to the structure and design of the Manufacturing Network. You will lead initiatives and complex cross-functional projects or programs that focus on distribution systems and facilities. As a working leader, this role will take the lead on the implementation and delivery of large system designs and advanced technology in ambiguous and complex problem spaces.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all aspects of Manufacturing Operations
  • Optimize operational resources while executing cost reductions and inventory controls
  • Work closely with staff to lead all initiatives that include ensuring qualified capacity, cost reduction, and continuous improvement.
  • Interface with key contacts outside the company, including customers, suppliers, and 3PL partners to optimize supply chain performance.
  • Provide general leadership/coaching in developing and enabling capabilities to support the implementation of key systems to improve supply chain fundamentals.
  • Actively manage career development of direct reports. Review performance and provide coaching, counseling, and mentoring as required to increase performance. Ensure identified development needs of staff members are met by job opportunities and training.
  • Work closely with Inventory and Merchandise Planning, Order management, EDI, to adhere to retailer requirements and to reduce chargebacks
  • Manage labor force of both temporary and permanent associates with ramp up and down during peak season
  • Achieve monthly goals in safety, quality, volume, and cost
  • Sets vision for operational priorities across distribution for the organization
  • Leads strategic and tactical operations deliverables to ensure customer and quality standards are met within specifications.
  • Collaborates with internal and external functional partners to ensure operations can meet customer demand.
  • Works with IT and other cross functional areas to ensure capability is aligned with Marketing and Sales strategies


Skills Required

  • Working knowledge of  SAP Transportation Management Systems (TMS)
  • Experience coordinating business unit demand and supply planning functions to support capacity planning and all order fulfillment requirements.
  • Applicant must have a proven track record challenging status quo and implementing change management. 
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, and functional capability with the other applications in Microsoft Office


Education & Experience

  • 10+ years’ experience in Manufacturing Distribution Center Operations, Warehouse, Logistics and / or Supply Chain Management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3-5 years' manufactuing experience
  • Experience in lean manufacturing highly preferred
  • Prior experience in Inventory Control and Demand Forecasting
  • WMS experience and ability to run reports and update scorecards
  • Possess strong leadership skills including Team Facilitation, Training, and Motivation
  • Cross-Functional Team Leadership
  • Possess an analytical mindset and strong experience with Process Improvement and Implementation in a distribution environment
  • Master’s degree desired but not required
