NBG Home is looking for a dynamic, engaging, well-rounded Network System Administrator to join our technology team located in Austin, TX.  Reporting to the Manager IT Infrastructure, this position will be responsible for installation, configuration, maintenance and monitoring our IT Infrastructure across our IT portfolio.  NBG Home is embarking on an aggressive business application transformation initiative. This initiative aims to drive scale, simplicity, and efficiency to position NBG Home as the leader in the Affordable Home Décor market. The Network System Administrator will play an integral role in driving the success of this multi-year initiative. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Pro-actively manage and architect company LAN/WLAN/WAN to ensure high availability, security, and performance to support business operational resiliency.
  • Troubleshoot network-related service issues including outages, anomalous behavior, and slow performance
  • Produce Network design, implementation, and migration plans.
  • Work with internal as well as external technical teams during design, development, and implementation phases of various network-related initiatives.
  • Develop Cybersecurity best practices, refine operational procedure and constantly think pro-actively and with innovation.
  • Manage and Administer Microsoft local network components (AD, CA, DHCP, DNS, etc.) as well as Cloud components (Office365, Azure, AWS etc.).
  • Configure, Maintain, Optimize and Design on-premises virtualization environment (VMware).
  • Drive and design IT aspects of system wide Disaster Recovery Plan.
  • Deliver all projects per agreed-upon best practices.
  • Serve as escalation for ServiceDesk on Network related questions

 

Skills Required

  • Minimum of 5 years of System Administration or LAN/WLAN/WAN Administration
  • Strong knowledge of Networking, TCP/IP, OSI Model, STP, Subnetting, VLAN’s, Routing Protocols, ACL’s, Network Fabrics, Wireless, IPsec and Client VPNs and Firewall operations
  • Solid Network and Cybersecurity fundamentals with the ability to transfer network configurations and concepts from one vendor to another. Desired vendor experience in Cisco, Fortinet, Aruba, Meraki, Arista, HP
  • Network tools including but not limited to: Wireshark, Network Management Systems, Network configuration management, SFlow/NetFlow, IPAM, and SDN, ZTP
  • Strong skills in Microsoft System Administration
  • Proficiency in Cloud Infrastructure (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
  • Fundamental Understanding and Experience using VMware
  • A genuine passion for building systems that are simple and work well

  • Experience with SNMP, NetFlow, SFlow and other Network Monitoring protocols and Methodologies

 

Education & Certifications

  • Associates Degree from a Technical Institute or similar Required Skills and Experience - Required
  • College Degree in Computer Science or Related Field – Preferred
  • Industry certifications relevant to the role such as MCSE, CCNA/CCNP, VCP, Security+, certification or equivalent
