We are currently seeking a Product Development Strategist to join our Product Strategy team. This position reports to the Sr. Director of Product Strategy.


The Product Strategy team will achieve corporate strategic and financial objectives by strategizing, conceiving, creating, directing, and managing all NBG Home brands, product categories, and individual products to exceed consumer and customer needs and desires.

We get this done by being:

  1. The NBG Home internal service arm that delivers on consumer and customer requests from the sales and digital teams and composes requests to support partners that align with their capabilities, capacities, operating processes and operating requirements.
  1. The cross-functional hub-of-the wheel in directing and driving market and product objectives across design, insights, innovation, development, sourcing, sales, planning, and finance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop the strategy for target consumers and customers in the designated future and current product (brand) category
  • Maintain, refresh, and innovate product categories
  • Drive Innovation
  • Achieve sales, margin, and budget goal for category
  • Specific product category expertise, channel, and customer knowledge as needed
  • Complete quarterly Competitive Market Assessments
  • Create and lead product briefs
  • Manage timelines, new product development goals & margins expectations and product target costing
  • Cross-functionally direct design, creative, visual and all other support teams for all requirements to fulfill a project completion
  • Direct interface with sourcing team
  • Day-to-day initiatives to deliver new products, packaging, merchandising solutions for assigned categories and customers
  • Responsible for SKU lifecycle management, inception to closure
  • Develop assistant product strategists
  • Strict adherence to PD calendar timelines and Milestone meetings

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Product Design or Retail Merchandising
  • 4+ years of progressive work experience in product development, innovation development or new product concept development

Additional information

  • Travel: This position requires some domestic travel, approximately 10%
