National Sales Account Manager

We are looking for a National Accounts Sales Manager. This position will be responsible for sales and category development in home décor for a top national retailer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manages several home sales categories for a top retailer. Leads the category team and deals directly with retailer buying teams.
  • Establishes, develops, and maintains relationships with customers. Owns the category relationship with the buyer and serves as a trusted category advisor. Identifies and clarifies internal/external customer needs and expectations, taking actions to ensure that customer goals are aligned and met.
  • Maintains a database of key contacts within the assigned area of responsibility.
  • Develops and maintains thorough knowledge of assigned products and systems, including their technical aspects, product features and advantages in terms of customer appeal, competitive strengths, weaknesses, and pricing structures.
  • Develops and conducts a variety of creative and effective presentations.
  • Achieves sales targets with aggressive deadlines.
  • Participates in regular department and company meetings to evaluate product and merchandising programs and to ensure strategic and key projects are on track to achieve goals.
  • Participates in regular touch base meetings with customer teams and ensures effective communication between company and retailer teams.

Skills Required

  • Administrative efficiency in handling paperwork, customer concerns, etc.
  • Strategic-thinking self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong selling ability with a history of achieving goals and meeting aggressive deadlines.
  • Results driven, flexible and open-minded with excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Advanced analytical skills. Experience analyzing retailer data and presenting key findings and recommendations to senior level management with an understanding of P&L.
  • Strong communication follow up and interpersonal skills with the ability to work successfully in a team environment.
  • Effective presentation, project management and organizational skills.

Edutation & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, sales, business administration, or a related degree or five (5) years of equivalent training and experience.
  • Home goods sales experience.
  • Proven track record opening, developing, and maintaining accounts. 
  • Applied professional experience in developing, maintaining, and improving customer relationships.

Other Job Related Requirements

  • Travel when required (approximately 10%)
