We are currently seeking a Senior Manager, Safety, workign remotely, reporting  to the ESC (Engineering, Sourcing, and Compliance) leader but will also matrix in to the HR leader. The Safety Manager will be directly responsible for always ensuring a safe environment for our associates. This role will develop and implement programs which identify and reduce exposure to workforce hazards. Provide direction to staff and on-site management team for establishing and sustaining the safety culture of the company.  Interact with external agencies and company sponsored safety partners to gain knowledge and implement processes that enhance safety awareness. Other responsibilities include establishing best safety practices, conducting safety site evaluations/audits, orientation/safety training of supervisory and support personnel, monitoring safety compliance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Operations management and HR to develop, prepare, and implement safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules.
  • Ensure completion of required OSHA recordkeeping and reporting.
  • Provide technical and administrative support to the safety committee.
  • Prevent or stop operations and activities that could harm employees or equipment.
  • Identify opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.
  • Develop, review, and periodically update safety training.
  • Conduct employee training on applicable safety standards.
  • Conduct safety inspections and audits to assess employee compliance with safety regulations.
  • Review accident and incident reports.

 

Skills Required

  • Extensive knowledge of current company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
  • Strong analytical thinking and proactive solution identification skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to conduct training effectively and lead change across multiple sites
  • Strong supervisory and leaderhsip skill
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software 

 

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health and Safety, Safety Engineering, Environmental Health, or related field.
  • 5+ years relevant experience and 2+ years experience managing a team; 2+ years managing multiple sites preferred.
  • The 10 and 30-hour OSHA compliance training courses or equivalents and Fundamentals of Industrial Hygiene are required.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation and other safety and health certifications are desirable

 

Travel

This position requires some domestic travel, approximately 20-50% depending on the need.
