Logistics Planner

We are currently seeking a  Logistics Planner, based in Goose Creek SC or Cornoa CA. This role  will be responsible for ensuring timely delivery of various forms of shipments both from our vendors and to our customers. The Logistics Planner will be responsible for maintaining data in various systems and reports.


  • Manage the movement of inbound air, ocean, rail and truck transportation from foreign ports to distribution centers and 3PLs by working with Fareast team, suppliers, ocean carriers, airlines, 3PL’s, freight forwarders, customs brokers, drayage carriers and distribution centers.
  • Manage SO requested delivery date, notify the business on any delays and update the system accordingly.
  • Meet regularly with manager and international transportation service providers to discuss service performance and metrics.
  • Review and process ocean carrier, freight forwarders, drayage and parcel invoices.
  • Dispute charges pertaining to demerge, chassis, bobtail, etc.
  • Work with custom brokers on custom clearance.
  • Creates shipment in ERP & TMS and maintains shipment status events to ensure reports are updated and accurate.
  • Work with Claims Represeng tative, DCs and international service providers on recover for damages, shortages, overages and claims.
  • Communicates with customer service, purchasing, demand planning, 3PLs and distribution centers to proactively provide delay or service-related issues and confirm ETA dates.
  • Communicate with customer and customer receiving department on direct import shipments.
  • Approve and audit freight invoices


  • Perform daily tasks within the Transportation department.
  • Perform annual reviews of all key work instructions and process flows to ensure accuracy.
  • Assist in training other team members as needed on all transportation related functions.
  • Actively cross training all functions within the Transportation department.

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Business, International business, Transportation, Logistics, or related area preferred
  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience in a Transportation related field, International experience preferred
  • A basic knowledge of International Regulations and Regulatory agencies preferred.
  • The ability to work independently while supporting the overall team mentality.
  • To be able to make timely decisions in a complex environment under pressure,.
  • An analytical approach to logistics planning that creatively solves challenges.
  • The ability to multitask in a fast paced environment with rapidly changing priorities
  • SAP, SAGE, DAX or TMS system experience a plus
  • Knowledge of distribution center operations
  • Strong PC skills, MS Office Products
  • Solid data analysis skills along with proficiency in Excel and Access
  • Warehouse Management system knowledge (PKMS) preferred.
